Australian Gaspeite and Sterling Silver are featured in these long, cascading earrings. The colors of the Gaspeite vary from bright apple green to a rustic, earthy green with brown matrix. Each stone has been carefully cut and polished, and the teardrops have been faceted. I wrapped the faceted stones with sterling silver wire, and attached each one to a length of sterling silver chain to create the effect of cascading teardrops.

A clever Bali silver link connects the trail of tears to a stack of five Gaspeite heishi beads that have the same color variations as the briolettes. I finished the look with my handmade sterling silver earwires.

These have a tribal, Bohemian feel and look about them, and will blend perfectly with many styles of clothing, for many different occasions. As far as which colors to wear them with? Just about any color you can think of! I love purple and green together, so I can see these with a smashing purple top or dress. Black? Most definitely! All earth colors? Without a doubt! They're also gorgeous with greens, blues, aquas, browns, and white! Maybe not red, but who am I to say so?

Gaspeite is a rare mineral, and because of it's limited availability, it's becoming very difficult to find. I tend to hoard mine, but I do have several strands of different sizes and shapes, so if you'd like to talk about a custom order, let me know!
